Patrick Kerin (Kerins; Kearin) was born to Mary (Keane or Kane) and John Kerins (Kearin) in Castleisland 1893, married Nora, had children, died in 1967 and is buried at a cemetery in Castleisland. He was the brother of my great grandfather, Denis Kerins.
County Kerry, or Ciarraí in Irish, is located in the south-west of Ireland. It is thought to be one of the most beautiful counties in Ireland and is home to the legendary Ring of Kerry – a 110 mile touring route. Tralee is our county town and we have a population of approximately 147,554. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.

Denis Kerins returned to Kerry for a visit for the first time after leaving in 1912

My great grandfather was able to return to Ireland for a visit in 1950. He traveled with his sister Mary and her husband Carl to Kerry. Pictured is the stamp from Shannon on his passport dated March 15, 1950 and his earlier passport photo. Much had changed since he left in 1912. Sometimes I wonder if he wished that he could have stayed, but he made a good life here in the U.S. and had many children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews here. There are 28 Kerins first cousins of my mother (his granddaughter) here.
