Garrett Galvin/Gallavin, his wife Mary Elizabeth Kean and their seven children were part of the 1825 Peter Robinson group. They lived in Rathea, 6 or 7 miles southwest of Listowel in the parish of Lixnaw.  His family traveled on the Elizabeth to Quebec, Canada mid 1825 and then in August they travelled with the other settlers to the Peterborough area. He and his wife, Mary E. Keane, and their younger children were settled in Emily Gore (now part of Ennismore.  He was allotted Lot 6 of Concession 11, while his two eldest sons, Patrick and John, were allotted Lot 6 of Concession 10.  He died in Ennismore in 1851 at the age of 70.  His daughter Ellen, who was 10 years old at the time of immigration, is my two times great grandmotheer on my mother's side of the family.
