In 1857, at the time of Griffiths Valuation, Moses Thistle & his wife Margaret appear on record at farm #22a Greaghclogh MULLAGH where they had a holding of approx 50 acres of land and a house valued at £1.10s.

In the 1833 Tithe Applotment records for this townland, he was not listed but seems to have been represented collectively by James Thrisel of "Greaghclaugh Upr" (Greaghclogh).

Part of Greaghclogh (including James' farm #9 but not Moses' farm) was put up for sale in 1854 and those records show that Moses & James Thistle held the lease for #9 in joint partnership for, on a year-by-year lease.
