Winifred Byrne was born Ashford, Co Wicklow in 1839 - father was James Byrne, Land Steward  from Talbotstown, Oldcourt, Blessington and her mother was Mary Taylor.

Winifred married Patrick Hugh Bloomer from Dungannon in 1864 in Blessington, Kilbride and they emigrated in 1864 to Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. Their wedding portrait is below:

Hugh (as he was known) and Winifred lived the rest of their lives in Gympie Qld where Hugh worked in the Gympie gold mines as gold had been discovered there in 1867.

They had 2 sons, Hugh and James(my grandfather).

Hugh died in 1905 and Winifred died 1913 at her eldest son's house in Maryborough.

I have been unable to find any information on James Byrne and Mary Taylor, other than the basics on Winifred's Death Certificate.  I would really appreciate anything at all on either of my great-grandparents.
