I am trying to find information regarding William Delany and/or his wife, Mary Downy (born 1801). William Delany was from County Limerick and likely was born sometime within the 1790-1810 range. They had a son in 1817, William Delany (William Delaney once he immigrated to America), but that's where I run out of information. Any further assistance would be of great help!
Thank you.

The theme was always the same: the pestilential climate of the island, the reduction of poor emigrants to slaves, the severity and cruelty of the planters (and planter-dominated Assembly clinging to every vestige of oppression) and, of course, the absence of priests and chapels.
