Patrick Gorman

/Patrick was the son of Patrick Gorman, a beetling engineman in Tassagh mill, and Mary Hanlon who married 9 Jan 1868 in Granemore Church. Mary, born 1840 to Francis Hanlon and Susanna Murry.   Patrick had a brother John, born 1869, who emigrated to Rhode Island in 1903 where he married Mary McCarthy, and a sister Mary born in 1871 who married John Kilroy.  Patrick was was born in 1873 and was a tailor.  In 1897 he married Mary McGeough and they had 5 children, Elizabeth 1898, Malachy 1901, Mary Josephine 1903 , Maurice 1904 and Patrick 1907. 
In 1914 the family moved to Dublin.    Mary McGeough's sister Elizabeth ('Liz) married Michael Joyce in 1914 in  Dublin and settled in Mulrany, Co.Mayo, his place of birth.

Patrick had three 1st cousins (at least);  John 1860-1933 who left Keady and went to Kilkenny where he married Mary Cody who owned a China Shop, no children; sister  Mary 1870-? who never married and died in Kilkenny, and brother Bernard, a blacksmith 1864-1948 who emigrated to Chicago in 1883 and married Mary Ellen Nevins there, and had one son and 4 daughters.      Bernard was the son of James Gormil and Margaret Finnegan.  There were 2 other children Stephen who died at an early age and Michael born in 1866, no further info.
