Migrated to/Born in USA

Mike and his brother (or close relative) named Sam Cassidy migrated to Texas in 1854. They first lived in Fayette County Texas, where Sam owned property. In 1860 Sam disappeared, no death records, no more property ownership. Mike moved to Gonzales County Texas, bought property, married, had three children and died in a ranching accident in 1888. He fought in the War Between the States and he rode the Chisholm Trail (a famous cattle drive from Texas to Kansas). He is buried in Gonzales County, Texas. Between entries in a family Bible and DNA links I have identified Tullinteane, Killaghtee, Donegal a place of origin. Another place mentioned in the family Bible is Dumferlin. I have not been able to locate that place in Ireland. His wife was a Texas woman, who could easily have spelled the Irish name phonetically - and thus incorrectly. By the time he was settled in Texas, he was a Protestant. DNA links confirm that other members of his family were Methodist.
