Michael was thought to be the first born of Garrett Barry & Catherine Toner, and Baptised in St Peter's RC Drogheda, Co Louth. He initially married in Belfast, but then arrived in Portsea Portsmouth, Hampshire, England about 1882. Not long after that he married a local woman Mary Brockway, and had several children, my grand father was the youngest born in 1900 in Portsea Stanley Patrick Barry. It is unknown at the moment the origins of Garrett or Catherine, and despite searching in Drogheda no other family has been located. In about 1882 Garrett, after Catherine passed in 1879 in Belfast took his family of boys initially to Glasgow, and soon after he moved to Edinburgh, where he died in 1886, where an unknown son James registered his death. It was also stated Garretts parents were John Barry & Mary Sullivan, Farmers.

The son Patrick married but lost his first wife soon after, but then remarried to Teresa Shannon and had a large family, they settled in Dublin, but several descendants have moved to England, including my third cousin Liam Marshal Barry, and we have tested Y DNA to establish Garrett as our common ancestor, we Had autosomal DNA at FTDNA, and myself at Ancestry and 23andme. My Direct Email is mike@family-barry.com and would love to hear from any potential relatives, I have two sons and one grand son, and two grand daughters, and I have remarried with a daughter, we live in Northampton, England
