Lived in Banbridge, County Down.

There is some confusion as to the husband being referred to as 'William' on his son's marriage record in Scotland and as 'James' on his son's death record in Scotland. There was a marriage of 'William John McKeown' to Jane Russell in Killinchy, County Down, about 30 miles east of Banbridge on 01Nov1850. However I don't see how this could be them for the following reason: This couple appear to have moved to Glasgow and had children there as shown in Scottish baptism records. Children were Jane in 1856, John in 1859, Margaret in 1860, but no son William. Our son William was supposed to be born in Banbridge about 1857 (based on the 1891 Scottish census). Otherwise the names and marriage date / location of the parents seems to fit. There were death records for James and Jane McKeown in the Banbridge district that seems to fit though if they stayed in Ireland. I don't know what to make of this. Again, conflicting information makes this challenging.
