James in born around 1780 in Knocklong, Limerick, where he spends his life and meets and marries his wife Bridget Barry in 1809 in Limerick. He dies on 19th April 1870 in Knocklong at the age of 90.
He has a daughter called Anne Gubbins born in 1813 in Knocklong.
