Meath

My records say my GGG Grandfather was born in Milltown, County Meath but there is no Milltown Parish and I haven't seen Milltown on a map of old Ireland. I'm looking for birth records and ancestor information. Was it the custom for marriages to be performed in the husband's or wife's parish? I believe they came to the US around 1846-48.

My Great Great Great Grandfather: James Reilly: born 20 June 1804; Milltown, County Meath.

Married to Margaret Tully; born 15 January 1805; Knocktemple, County Cavan.

Great Great Grandfather: James Reilly, born 1 September 1846.

Other children:

Mary, born 16 February 1833

Terrance, born 13 May 1834

Michael, born 8 June 1836

Elizabeth, born 19 March 1838

Margaret, born 7 January 1855

Marriages were conducted in the bride's church. Margaret's townland was Knockatemple in Munterconnaught civil parish which borders Co. Meath. There are seven townlands called Milltown in Co. Meath. The closest Milltown to the Co. Cavan boder is Moylagh civil parish but I have nothing to prove that is the correct parish.

I checked www.rootsireland.ie  This is a pay site. They have a Co. Cavan marriage between James Reilly and Margaret Tully in 1832. I also saw a birth record for a Mary Reilly in 1833 in Co. Meath.
