Looking for: William H. HOLMES was born in 1795. Coleraine, Antrim, Ulster, Ireland 1795

Antrim

Hi,

I'm new to this and just had my DNA Results back, they have led me to this chap. Does anyone happen to know anything? He left Antrim and lived in the US.

Many thanks if you know of anything!?

Best regards,

Donna.

Donna,

Any other info available? His wife and children? Names of children in order. Where did he emigrate to? when?  When/where did he died?

Thank you.

Donna,

There was a William Holmes living in the Diamond, Coleraine in the 1831 census:

And another one in Brook Street:

Both were Presbyterian.

Incidentally, Coleraine is in Co Derry, not Co Antrim, though the county border is close by.

It's of interest that two lines above this William on the census page is a Mrs. Thompson.  IF Donna's William Holmes is the same William who died in Iowa and whose wife was Rachel...well, her maiden name was Thompson. One of the Ancestry trees for this couple says that this Rachel was born in Coleraine.

II hope this helps.
