Hello;
I'm researching my patriarch, James Connor. The only Irish clue I have is from his naturalization papers. They say he was born in Wexford in 1801 and that in 1817 he came from Ballyhack to Maine. I can't tell if Ballyhack is simply his disembarkation place or if that is where he actually is from. Attached is the certificate.
He soon began going by the name of Connors, which is how my family is now described. I don't know if that means he changed it or if the naturalization people got it wrong.
I would be grateful for any further information.
