Molloy/Farrell
Hello, I have just come upon this marvellous site, and wonder if anyone can help with my search for my great grandfather and descendents. My GGF is Peter Molloy born,I believe, in Wexford and died in the district of Fethard,Union of New Ross, County of Wexford on 7 November 1916 at the recorded age of 85 years. The informant to his death was Edward Kehoe, his Grandson. Peter Molloy had married Mary Farrell I believe, but he was a widower at the time of his death. If his age at death as recorded on the death certificate (85) is correct, then he would have been born in 1831.I have no details on Peter and Mary's parents.or other ancestors
So far as I am aware the couple had at least 6 children, all born in Coolgranny: Mary b Feb 1868, John and Patrick both b Sept 1869, James (my Grandfather),bJan1872, Marianne b Aug 1875 and possibly Bridget dob unknown. If Bridget is right, it seems she married a John Kehoe in Nov 1889..
It can be very confusing following families through, and as I do not have a marriage certificate for Peter and Mary, I have to draw sensible conclusions from the research I have been able to do. But I seem to have hit the "brick wall"and would be most appreciative of any help that will carry my search forward, including finding a living relative.
with thanks, yours sincerely
Jim Molloy (born in Dublin in 1941 and now living in Portsmouth, England).
