Searching for my Mulrooney family ancestors

My ancestor was Edward Mulrooney born in (maybe) Kilkenny, Galway in 1785. He immigrated to Newfoundland with2 brother.Edward and his decendants were sailors. He arrived in Douglastown, Gaspe, Quebec in 1804. He married Catherine Walsh in 1814. I have Edward's family genealogy going forward but we have no information prior to his arrival in Douglastown. Your assistance would be most welcome.
