Quaid's,Kilmallock 1860's &70's

Hi folks I hope someone can help, my grandfather was born in Limerick City in 1894 (John Thomas Anderson), his parents my great grandparents were married in St Michael RC Church,Limerick in 1894.

My great grandfather's name was John Anderson and my great grandmother's was Elizabeth Quaid showing as born Adare,Limerick 1870, they all eventually moved to Glasgow around 1903.

Some research has led me to believe Elizabeth's father's name was Patrick and her mother's surname was Nickey.

Now the obvious reaction would be to think that Nickey is being confused with Hickey but I am told not.

Is there any way I can find out more about Elizabeth's parents marriage.

I was told a Patrick Quaid married an Elizabeth in Kilmallock in 1870, the year of my great grandmother's birth.

Through the mists of time I have been told they may have worked on a large gaming estate in Adare somewhere.

 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jilajay 2007, 

I know that my Great grandmothers parents were Patrick Quaide and Elizabeth Nickey. As for Patrick's parents names I have no idea.

I am told the enumerator may have got the surname wrong for Elizabeth's mother and it maybe should have been Hickey, although unsure.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
