Patricii Whalen & Joanna Power

Waterford

Hello! I am looking for more information for my family tree, what I know so far is as follows:

Father - Patricii Whalen

Mother - Joanna Power

Children - Michael Wheelan (1811- unknown)

They lived in Waterford, and moved to Merthyr Tudful, Glamorgan in Wales.

I am looking for more information in Patricii or Joanna, or just anything! Thank you so much.

A couple of things to keep in mind when researching this couple...

--Patricii is Latin for PATRICK.

--In Irish, Whelan and Phelan are the same name (O'Faolain). So look under both names.

--There are many variations for the name Joanna: https://www.google.com/search?q=variations+for+name+johanna+ireland&sca_esv=9fd8d153fdb0abdd&sxsrf=AE3TifP12Cpcnt16GHnjM5TI0I3pzxKAOg%3A1754056863513&source=hp&ei=n8iMaPvtGsmnptQP5MKfuQc&iflsig=AOw8s4IAAAAAaIzWr1KAEO7QMO8-2j4NtVnuNjVvh3Q5&ved=0ahUKEwi7uYuC4-mOAxXJk4kEHWThJ3cQ4dUDCBo&uact=5&oq=variations+for+name+johanna+ireland&gs_lp=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_iiq3fayrpIHBTMxLjExoAe5lQKyBwUyNy4xMbgHpRzCBwgyLjcuMjkuNMgH0wE&sclient=gws-wiz

If you take a look at Michael in the 1851 census, his age is said to be 50, so born c1801. The 1861 census has him born in 1811.
