I have not been able to find anything regarding Catherine's siblings, nor her Mother. I do have Catherine's marriage certificate, which is in the Bible she and her husband, James, bought. There is, however, no mention of either's siblings. From their union to present day, it shows the children, the marriages, and subsequent children. It all starts with Catherine and James Callahan (I believe he originally spelled it Calighan) and their marriage in 1859. My Mother believed Catherine's Mother's name to be Catherine also. Mother also said we had some relatives "out east" (such as Pennsylvania), but she didn't know where or who they were. Oddly enough, Catherine was buried in Belvidere, Illinois. On her death notice, it shows her Mother's name to be Margaret Delany (or Delaney). I am sure this is incorrect, but since neither Catherine or James were there to answer the question of her mother's name (!), it was listed as such. I have never found a Margaret Delany in any relationship to the Kiely's. It seems to be that if Catherine's Mother's name was Catherine, that name would be continued for a few generations, and it was. My Mother's cousin was Catherine. No one I know of has ever heard of Brigid, but with so many records lost, etc., I guess anything is possible! Thank you again, I will look into these names. No where in any news clippings (from the family bible) are the names Roger and Charles listed. Of course we have a MaryAnn (isn't it illegal not to have a Mary if you are Irish? :) Thank you so much for all of your hard work. I will check more records later when they become free.
PS - My Mother was always under the impression that Catherine was from the Waterford area.
