Catherine Tobin
According to my ggg grandmother's marriage index, she was from Carradarra (Curradarra) townland in Aglish parish. Co. Waterford.
I have found a James Tobin in Curradarra in the 1861 Griffiths; maybe a relative, possibly a brother. My Catherine was born in 1816/17, and I am just assuming it's Curradarra because of the marriage record.
I know the baptisms don't go back as far as 1816, but I'm in hopes there might be members who have Tobins in their tree, who might have come across her name.
Catherine married William Curreen (Curran) in Aglish in 1842. They had three sons, Thomas (1843), Michael (1844), and James (1846) all baptized in Dungarvan. They immigrated to Yonkers, NY in 1847. If they followed the Irish naming pattern, possibly her father's name was Michael.Sound familiar to anyone?
