Killeshill

Greetings from Woodstock, NY. I am traveling to Northern Ireland in June and would like to stop by the town where my g-grandmother and her sister were baptised (Killeshill) in the 1840s. Could you please identify places nearby where we could find a hotel to stay overnight? Thank you. Christine Dinsmore

There?s a townland of Killeshill, and then also a parish of the same name.  The townland consists of 521 acres of agricultural land (population 161 in 1901). Most of the parish is just agricultural land too. The nearest town is Dungannon, a few miles to the east. There?s a decent hotel called the Corick House Hotel & Spa a few miles to the west of Killeeshil, just off the road to Enniskillen.

Here?s a link to the Northern Ireland tourist board site which will give you other accommodation options:

Thank you so much. Hoping to find the spot where my gg-grandparents lived with my g-grandmother and greataunt before they immigrated to Brooklyn NY in 1848. Again, thank you.
