ECCLESfamily - I'm looking for anyone who may have info onEcclesfamily genealogy beginning withCharles Edward Eccles(circa 1715-1781). Charles was born in Northern Ireland and had three sons before emigrating to Pennsylvania circa 1748. His sons wereWilliam George Eccleswho was born circa 1740 in N.Ireland (in County Down?),Arthur Richard Eccleswho was born in 1742 (in County Down?) andNathaniel Eccleswho was born in early Oct 1744 in the Belfast area. Charles reportedly married firstly Mary Louise Tether/Teeter(1723-1748) and laterMary Gilkinson (1715-1760).

Charles Eccles' parents were said to have beenWilliam Chichester Eccles(1685-1742), who was born in the townland (family estate) ofShannock (nearMagheraveely), County Fermanaghand Hannah Hulme/Hume (1692-x). William Chichester Eccles' parents were said to have beenDaniel Eccles(1645-1687) who was also born in the townland of Shannock, County Fermanagh and Sarah Moore (1643-x). Daniel Eccles was said to have owned property in both County Fermanagh and County Tyrone. Daniel Eccles' parents wereSir Gilbert Eccles(1602-1694) born at the family estate of Kildonan (near Pinwherry) south Ayrshire, Scotland and Elizabeth Ker born circa 1620 in Trearne, Scotland. Elizabeth Ker was said to be Gilbert Eccles' third wife (the first being Ann Cockburn, the second Bessie Schort/Short). The Eccles family would have been of the Church of Ireland or Presbyterian denomination.
