GORDON Camus Tyrone

There are no Church records existing for the time period you want. The Freeholders list shows 375 Gordons in Tyrone. Whether you were on the list depending on the value of your lease.

Thanks for all that.

I think the two Gordons on the Griffiths valuation at Edymore, Camus Tyrone, William and Robert Gordon are Brothers. I also think the Family on the 1901 and 1911 census are related through Isabella Gordons Brother, William Gordon born 1821.

I have done Autosomal DNA Family Fiinder test through FTDNA with the hope that the paper trail will end up matching the DNA one.

Thanks again.

I have been researching Gordon Families in North Tyrone for the past ten years. Most of the Ballee Gordon Family emigrated to Canada and the United States. My view is that there is a link between the families at Ballee and Edymore/Carrigullon but at present this can not be proved. I have a web page and the address is http://gordonresearch.talktalk.net  The Ballyskeagh Gordon Family can be traced back to the late 17th century and some of their family moved to the townland of Stragullin which is also in the Parish of Camus.

There ia a Gordon Family who emigrated from Camus to Charleston, South Carolina in 1836.Their desendants now live in Mississippi/Texas. The Edymore Gordon family burial  plots are in The Old Leckpatrick Cemetery.Recently I found the burial plot of Victor Gordon 1789-1862 and his wife Margaret Gordon 1791-1854 in the old cemetery near the Bowling Green,Strabane. If you wish you can contact me offline at gordon_m3@talktalk.net.
