Hi! I'm trying to learn more about my great grandfather's family, and I've just started to connect with a distant, distant cousin. My family in Virginia would love to know more about our Irish roots, and possibly learn more about my great grandfather.
William Booth b. 1865, father Benjamin Booth, both of Stewartstown.
Thanks so much!
Catherine
There’s a birth for a William Booth on 18.1.1865 registered in Cookstown. Mother’s maiden name White. It's the only Wm Booth birth in the Stewartstown area in 1865. You might want to check that to see if the father is Benjamin. You can view the original certificate on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:
You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2 (sterling) to a view a certificate.
Possible siblings:
Matilda 1.8.1866; James 16.12.1867; Robert 28.6.1869; Margaret 17.11.1869, unnamed female 28.11.1870; George 12.2.1871; Elizabeth 17.12.1872; Isabella 30.7.1874; Joseph 20.1.1876 & Edmund 3.11.1877.
This looks to be that family:

Probate of the Will of Benjamin Booth late of Ballymaguire County Tyrone Farmer who died 13 December 1903 granted at Armagh to William James Trimble and David Blair Merchants
Can’t see a marriage for those parents. Nearest is Benjamin Booth to Ellen Brooks 12.4.1865 Magherafelt.
