Looking for Michael Geary
My great great grandfather, Michael Geary, was born about 1830 in County Tipperary and emigrated to the US in 1849. He married a "Galway gal," Catherine Glenn, who, I believe,he met here in the states. They married in 1855. My great grandfather, John Philip Geary was born in New York City in about 1857. (He had gold fever and came here to Colorado where grandma was born.) Michael and Catherine had two other sons, Martin and Michael - who became a priest. In 1870 the family was in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania working in the coal mines. Michael, Catherine and Martin ended up in Boston. Son Michael in California.
I know this isn't much to go on, but it doesn't look like Martin had children and Michael obviously didn't, so I don't have much hope from another direction. My dad always said I got "all the Irish." (I'm assuming this is a compliment, don't you!?) I hope I can find out more about my Irish.
Thank you
Gaby
