I am looking for information about myancestor William Henry Bell Kingsley 1835-1901. I understand he was a JP for the Nenagh Bench. Where can I find the datewhenhe was appointed to the bench? thanks
Dear Mary
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
One place where you should be able to find out more are the newspaper archives. You can subscribe to the Irish Newspaper Archive or the British Newspaper Archive for short periods. There is one baptism for a William Kingsley on rootsireland in Tipperary in Jan 1837 - do you know what his father's name was?
Slater's Directory too should detail his position: http://www.failteromhat.com/slater.htm
Would love to know if you find anything more. There is a wikpedia page that refers to the son of William Henry Bell but it is not always easy to verify the source of wiki info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Kingsley
Best wishes
