Catherine/Catharine Houlehan/Houlihan O'Day/O'Dea 1841
TipperaryMonsea (Tipperary)
Good morning. Have reason to think that Catherine Houlihan (my g-g-grandmother) was born 1841 in Killaloe, Monsea, Tipperary to Michael and Nora/Honora Houlehan. Catherine is buried here in the USA with her husband, Thomas O'Dea (b .1826 per death records). While theyboth wereborn in Ireland, not sure where they were married and not sure when they immigrated to New York.
I am confused about the area in Ireland. Is it in CountyTipperary or County Clare? Did it change over time?
The information I received on Ancestry.com shows a baptismal record from Killaloe, Monsea May 1841.
Suggestions for further search of that family to see if it is a real connection? Is O'Dea a popular surname near the border of Clare and Tipperary?
THANK YOU!
Ann Marie
