searching for all FINN families RELATED TO PATRICK FINN (dob 8 June 1837)

Tipperary

My 2nd GG, Patrick Finn baptized Golden & Kilfeacle Parish (8 june 1837) to parents Patt Finn and Betty Elizabeth Cunningham.

Brother Richard Finn (8 july 1834) and sister Ellen (8 July 1840) also baptized same parish.

My 3rd GG, Patt Finn (dob 18 aug 1799) baptized Cashel Emily parish to parents Patrick Finn(1773?) & Mary Horan.

I am unable to find any additional documentation about him or them

2nd GG Patrick Finn (1837) immigrated to Martinsburg, NY with his widow mother, Elizabeth(1805) and brother Michael Finn(1847) around 1850 and married Jane Owens ( dob 10 April 1834 NY).

I would like to visit Ireland in the near future but would like more information about my family, what town lands, burial cemetery, etc before making the trip.

Any directions or advice would be very appreciated.

Linda:

The RC records for Golden and Kilfeacle parish start in May 1833. I looked at the three baptismal records you cited to try to determine a townland/civil parish. The record for Ellen Finn in 1840 shows a townland of Ardobireen which is in the civil parish of Relickmurry and Athassel. Can't locate the baptismal record for Michael Finn.

PATRICIA AND ROGER,

Thank you so much.

I am so confused about parishes/civil parish and town lands...I can't interpret the baptismal record for the townland for Patrick and Richard...it looks like Broken Cair?

But am unable to locate it.

and the baptismal record for Patt Finn lists

Cashel. Cashel & Emly 18 Aug 1799 . So Iis the applotment 1823 for Roscrea possibly him? How would I confirm?

I sure appreciate your help in clarifying this for me.

Linda:

Broken Cair could be the townland of Ballycarron also in the civil parish of Relickmurry and Athassel.

Regarding the Tithe Applotment listing that Patricia provided, possibly the sixth record could be the 1799 Patrick Finn. There is no way to confirm without other evidence.
