Looking for Info on the Hilbert Family
I am looking for information on my great grandmother's family in Tipperary, Ireland. Bridget Hilbert came to the US and settled in central Pennsylvania where she married Michael Kelly, a coal miner. Bridget’s father may be William Hilbert (ca. 1811 - 1861 to 1870), mother Honora Ellard (1815-1860); married 1830. Both born in Ireland. Died in Wilkes-Barre, PA. William's father was John Hellebert (1787-1867; death March 13, 1867, Loughtea, Castletownarra Parish, Tipperary Co., Ireland) and his mother was named Judith (1788-1867; death March 13, 1867, near Loughthea, Castletownarra Parish, Tipperary Co.). The children were:
Bridget "Bee" (1831–1908), Mary "May" (1831–1916), Patrick (1832–1862), John (1841–1923), Michael M. (1842–1904), and Ellen "Nellie" (1851–1923). William is listed from Tipperary, Kilmore, Tullahedy in Ireland. Note that John and Judith died on the same day in 1867. Are there any records concerning the cause of their deaths? Are there any records of when Bridget (and the other children) might have emigrated? My DNA confirms my Irish connections, but I know nothing about them. Thank you. Dr. Ken Dodd, Gainesville, Florida.
