Cahirciveens parish?

Tipperary

Good morning, my name is Claudia Fernández McCarthy and I am writing from Spain. (In Spain people have two surnames: first your dad's and then your mum's.)

I have been trying to trace my mum's family back to Ireland and it has been quite difficult, to say the least. I know my irish ancestor (Daniel Jeremiah McCarthy) came from Cahirciveen.

In order to search through your website I need to know the parish. Could you please tell me what is the parish for Cahirciveen?
Thank you for your attention.

Regards,

Claudia Fernández McCarthy

Hi Claudia

Rather late replying but just to let you know Cahirciveen is not in Tipperary it is in County Kerry. There is a free website irishgenealogy https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp&n…; where you may be able to commence your search for Daniel. Civil records began in Ireland in 1864 so you can search from that date for Births, Deaths and Marriages. If he was born or married before that date you may use the site roots ireland - https://rootsireland.ie/ifhf/quis.php?page=0&prevStartQuery=0 ; and narrow your search to Co Kerry.

All the best with your research.

Kind regards
