Hi. Searching rootsireland.ie for baptisms, I found 2 brothers in the civil parish of Silvermines.Their "address" was given as Ballivrida and Ballisiddy respectively. Are these roads or ? I haven't been able to find a reference to either.
Thank You,
Dennis Hogan
Dennis:
The records you located were in the RC parish of Silvermines. There is no civil parish of Silvermines. There are three civil parishes that are connected to the RC parish of Silvermines: Dolla, Ballynaclogh and Kilmore.
I looked at the townlands in those three parishes and did not locate a good match for Ballisiddy and Ballivrida. Can you provide the names of the two brothers and the years they were baptized. I will then look at the parish register for Silvermines. Possibly Ballisiddy and Ballivrida are local place names and not official townlands.
Roger McDonnell
Ballyvridagh is a small townland near Capparoe, in the Parish of Silvermines, Co Tipperary.
THANK YOU Roger and Siobhan.
Michael Meara baptised 1844
Patrick Mara baptised 1852
They are the children of Patrick O'Mara and Honora Malone. Additional children are Jane and Bridget but they do not indicate an "address"
Have a great day.
Dennis
On the register itseIf, the townIand for MichaeI is BaIIyphiIip, not Ballisiddy. The mother's name here is Sarah, not Honora.
Dennis:
I found a few more children of Patrick Mara and Honoria/Onny Malone.
