Holycross-Ballycahill Baptisms 1850s

TipperaryHolycross (Tipperary)

If Holycross/Ballycahill records indicate that people were baptised in the Holycross Catholic Church during the mid-1850s, are they referring to the "Abbey" or is there another catholic church in Holycross?

Everything I see on Holycross only refers to the Abbey. But supposedly it lay in ruins in the 1600/1700s. At what point was it re-built? Before or after 1850? If after, where did the 18050s baptisms actually occur?

Thanks.

There was an RC Chapel just west of the ruins of The Abbey - it's shown on the c1837 and 1890 OSI maps.

see RC Chapel Holycross  (c1837 OSI map)

Thanks.  Good link.   What about the church which is NW of the chapel?  That's not too far distant.
