Maher Family from Gortnahoe

Researching extended Maher Family from Gortnahoe area. Family land ownership perhaps in Urard or Moyne.

John Maher, baptized 14 Jan 1819 in Gortnahoe, Tipperary and Honora Scott, baptized 25 Jul 1819 in Johnstown, Kilkenny were married in Gortnahoe 25 Jan 1845.They had one child born in Ireland, William, baptized June 3, 1849 in Gortnahoe and emigrated to the U.S. between 1849 & 1852. Two other children, John Jr, 28 Mar 1852, and James, 25 Jan 1854, were both born in St. Louis, Missouri.

According to John's baptism record, parents were John Maher and Cath Mantin of Urard (sponsors John Mantin & Cath Maher). Honora Scott's parents were William Scott and Cathre Ryan of Baunmore (sponsors David Scott & Jenny Kiervan (sp). John and Honora's marriage witnesses were Michael Mantin and Ellen Maher.

The marriage of John Maher and Catherine Mantin is documented in the NLI source for Gortnahoe. The marriage date is 06 Feb 1812 (attached). Does this date correspond to the children born in 1812 from your research? Also, the NLI document contains the witnesses but not the parents. I presume the parents would be from the surrounding area.

The marriage date of John Maher and Catherine Mantin, 06 Feb 1812, corresponds with the birth of Margaret and Mary (twins) in 7 Oct 1812. It appears the Maher family moved from Moyne to Gortnahoe.

Also, there is a Betty Maher born to John Maher & Catherin Mantin in 1834 (attached). Would you be able to confirm that this is the the same Maher family?

Are there sources for County Tipperary and County Kilkenny records prior to 1800? It appears records from Ancestry, FamilySearch, NLI, etc. are nonexistent before 1800. Thanks
