John Coleman, Grallagh Townland, Co. Tipperary

Hello, I am hoping to make contact with members of the Coleman family.  I am descended from John and Annie/Nancy (Peters) Coleman.  Several of their children emigrated to Melbourne, Australia in the nineteenth century, including my great grandmother, Annie Agnes.  Annie's story is recorded on the ancestors database of this website.  A family member is visiting Ireland in November (next month) and we are hoping he will be able to locate the site of the Coleman home and maybe meet some Irish cousins.  I have details from the Griffiths valuation and I've added them here, but I'm yet to place the site on the ordnance map.  If someone in the area is able to help me it would be very much appreciated.  Thank you,

The Griffiths did not attach. If you go to this site  https://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/  and fill out the searches for John Coleman in Grallagh townland Dolla civil parish, you will be able to get a map of the townland which shows the location of house 3 which was John Coleman's house.

Thank you Roger, yes, I have since learned of that site.  We believe we've located the property and I'm just doing some double checking.  Hopefully the search for some family members will be as fruitful and my son is able to put his navigational skills to good use!

Hi Maureen, 

I am a descendant of John and Anne/Nancy Coleman.  So far I can see they had five children - John, Margaret, Pat, Anne and Ellen.   Their address on their birth records is Killanave Templederry.   Their son John was my Great Great Grandfather.  Are we the same Coleman family?
