I am searching for information about my Great-grandfather, John Murphy, from Borrisokane, Tipperary, who immigrated to the United States in 1865. As a family, we recently traveled to Ireland and have reached a dead end in finding out more about John. Any tips are appreciated.

If you have any further details about John , ie who his parents/siblings were , any addresses . What names he called his children, did he marry in Ireland or the USA, the smallest detail can make the difference. What did he work at, when did he die etc, how old was he when he emigrated ? It is difficult without some information to trace family and there are many records for the name Murphy in Borrisokane.
