1818 was well before the establishment of official townlands in 1851. So Knockauree (and variants) was a local place name. The Tithe listing database on the National Archives site is currently down so you can't look for Thomas Meagher and try to compare records to the 1850 Griffiths Valuation householders list.

Thanks, I will try there.
CeIeste,
RootsIreIand has transcribed the townland as
Knockanree.

Thank you. I have located multiple baptism records in this parish that list this townland, and its exact spelling depends on the priest's handwriting and his creativity in spelling phonetically. Regardless, there is no modern townland that starts with "Knock-" in the vicinity. So, I am a loss for now...
After further research, I learned that Ballytarsna Hackett (where there were other, related Meagher baptisms) is a large townland that may contain the place name Knockauree. A topo map of Ballytarsna shows a hilly section in the south-west corner. This may be the best I can do, for now, until I visit the area next year.
I reached out to a Co. Tipp contact, local to that area, and she discovered that Knockauree is an old name for Ballinree, which is a small townland adjacent to Ballytarsna.
