Links to Daniel Leamy, Farmer.

Ballycahill (Tipperary)

Daniel Leamy was a Farmer in Ballycahill, in 1899. His daughter Ellen Leamy was my great grandmother,  she moved to England and Married Michael Gateley,  they had a child Bridget,  my grandmother who died in WW2.  My Mother is Bridgets daughter, she was an evacuee in WW2 and never returned to her Mother as she had died. My Mother is 92 years old and has Alzheimer's 

I intend on visiting this coming year , so would be keen to find out more about Daniel.

It would help if you could provide additional info. When and where was Ellen born? When did she go to England? Do you know her siblings' names? Did Daniel always live in Ballycahill? When did she marry Michael?

Per RootsIreland (paid subscription) there was an Ellen Leamy born in Tipperary in 1879 to Daniel Leamy, laborer, and Margaret Cullen. She had 5 siblings. Is this your Ellen?

I'm afraid that I only have her marriage certificate. It states that her father was Daniel Leamey, a Farmer in Tipperary.  My Aunt, who has now died, remembered a Shamrock being sent every year from relatives in Tipperary. 

I have her marriage certificate in front of me. She married James Gateley at St Patrick's Church,  Huddersfield,on 8 Nov 1902, she was 21 years old. I do wish that I had more information.
