There are two townlands, Skreen Beg (96 acres) and Skreen More (106 acres). In the 1901 census there were 4 houses in Skreen Beg and 3 in Skreen More. Total population was 41 people, all engaged in farming or agriculture generally.

Griffiths Valuation of 1857 lists a Michael Waters in Skreen Beg farming plot 2 with a John Dwyer. Perhaps that was your family?

Skreen Beg is just north of the N59 Rd near Skreen Garda station. It looks to be 1 large farm today (judging by Google Earth).
Skreen Beg is in the RC parish of Skreen & Dromard. Their RC baptisms start in 1823 and marriages 1817. Have you searched them for your family?
Thank you so much for your response:
Thomas Waters, who immigrated to USA, had a son named Michael. Michael was born in Ireland 1865 and immigrated with his father. The Michael you have identified could perhaps be a brother to Thomas; uncle to his son, Michael.
Your recommendation to search the RC baptism and marriage records from the parish Skreen and Dromard sounds like the next step. Would you be able to recommend how best to access those records? (You can tell I am a real novice on this search)
Thanks again for all your help.
