Dear Vicky

My apologies for the very late response. Have you managed to learn anymore about these ancestors? There were quite a few entries on the Griffith's Valuation:

Have you seen this online reference?

You may also find the National Library of Ireland Sources database of use:

Best wishes

Hi

I just saw this post today. I have lots of information about the Meredith family from Sligo. In fact your family features in an entire chapter in my book about the Meredith family.

Let me know what information you need.

Hi Vicki

Just discovering this website. I am a cousin - living in Calgary, Alberta. I am descended from Martin Johnston and Jane Sadler, through their son Alexander (b. 1850 in Ontario), Alexander’s son Thomas George “Lester” Johnston (b. 1886), and Lester’s son Donald (b. 1926).

It appears that Martin’s father - according to Irish naming conventions - was Thomas. I haven’t been able to find any documentation, however.
