John Casey son of Patrick Casey born c 1846

Roscommon

Looking to confirm the birthplace of my GGFJohn Casey born c 1846 , in Roscommon exact location unk. According to his marriage record 1875 his father was Patrick and obviously alive at that date . John Casey joined the RIC in 1867 and in 1875 on his marriage gave his address as Derrypark . I am assuming this to be in the Clonbur area as this was the location of his marriage /wife . His death is somewhat of a mystery but probably died in 1890 in Ballinasloe . His wife Honoria (Higgins) was in Galway Town in 1893 with her 2 daughters . - a widow

Never been able to definitely locate his birth and if he had any siblings, death of his parents . On his RIC record he is credited with having relatives in Longford !

The subscription site Roots Ireland has two possible leads in Co. Roscommon.

John Casy son of Patrick Casy and Catherine Galvin baptized July 27 1946 at the church in Roscommon Town.

John Casey son of Patrick Casey and Penelope Morrisroe baptized August 19 1845 in Tibohine/Fairymount church.

I searched for a death record in the Ballinasloe registration distrcit from 1885-1895 but did not see his record.

I will look on FindMyPast for RIC records.

Wondering if any update on this posting ? Somehow I have gone with the Casey/ Galvin marriage . Also I seem to remember a mention of Kilteveen in the past - is that the same parish as this posting

Roscommon town is in Roscommon civil parish but Kilteevan civil parish is just to the east of Roscommon civil parish.
