Flynns of Greaghnaglogh, Kilronan

RoscommonKilronan (Roscommon)

I am seeking to connect with the Flynn family of Kilronan.

Here's a summary of what I know:

Michael Flynn
born about 1824 Roscommon, Ireland
married Mary Mulheerin 20 Jan 1845 Kilronan (source: Parish register)
1858 Occupier of a house and land inGreaghnaglogh (11.75 acres) owned byWm F. McDermottroe
1901 Census. Age shown as 80. Possibly incorrect. Living atGreaghnaglogh. Also present daughter Maggie Cramer, her husband Bernard crame and their son Thomas Cramer)
1911 Census. Age 87. Living at Greaghnaglogh. Also present daughter Maggie Cramer, her husband Bernard Cramer and children Thomas Cramer and Mary B Cramer)

Michael and Mary Flynn had the following children:
Owen Flynn (1846-1929). Moved to Ediburgh, Scotland then emigrated to Australia 1884. Died in Perth, Western Australia.
Michael Flynn (1849-?)
Patrick Flynn (1852-?)
Joanne Flynn (1855-?)
Catherine (Kate) Flynn (1857-?). We think she married a Duffy and had two children Agnes Duffy and Mary Duffy, who moved to Ediburgh, Scotland.
Bridget Flynn (1860-?)
Mary Flynn (1864-?)
Margaret (Maggie) Flynn (1867-?). Married Bernard Cramer in 1895. Still living inGreaghnaglogh in 1911.
Agnes Flynn. Possible married ???Scholan. Apparently died when she was aged 100.

Look forward to hearing from anybody related to the Flynns.

PS - If you think you might be related, several Flynn descendants have also taken autosomal DNA tests (such as FamilyFinder on FTDNA and Ancestry DNA) so we should be able to identify if you're related within about the last 5-6 generations.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Hopefully, someone with Flynn connections in North Roscommon will see your message and comment.

I located the death records for Mary Flynn (1904) and Michael Flynn(1915). You will have to sign-in to see the records.

www.irishgenealogy.ie has images of civil records for certain years so you may want to search for records.

Finally, you may want to add a storty about Owen and his family at our XO Chronicles site.

 Hi richard

I have Flynn's from Westmeath and Roscommon but not exactly sure where yet.  Also live in Western Australia so if you need a hand finding details for Owen, let me know. I am also in fb groups for Westmeath and there are heaps of Flynn's there
