Information sought on an area in Dysart/Tisrara, County Roscommon civil parish.

Dysart (Roscommon)

Locationsought  old name was Currcruise- it was in the Dysart /Tisrara parish, County Roscommon/Galway.

Honoria Kelly,  `` Currcruise `` and John Moore were married in Dysart/Tisrara Church in 1870. John was from Creeher, Ballyforan .

I am assuming that Currcruise was an old Local name for an area in teh Dysart/Tisrara Civil parish.

Any idea of where Currcruise relates to ?

I looked at the Dysart/Tisrara/Ballforan parish register for the marriage in question and the location entry for Honoria Kelly clearly shows Curwina. I saw one other marriage where the same location was shown. Must be a local placename. I'm not in Ireland so I can't assist further.

On the corresponding Church record of the marriage the bride's residence looks more like 'Currivina'..  possibly an alternate name for a location in the area, or a local placename

I suspect the location is possibly a variant for Cuillawinnia townland which is in Tisara civil parish,

The placename database includes several variants, and the name in Irish 'Coill a mhuine', 'wood of the brake' https://www.logainm.ie/en/44212

Many thanks.  There is an area, close to Ballyforan, in the civil parish of Dysart/Tisrara/Taughboy, which has a local name of Currawina. The correct name for the area is Muckloon.  Your help is much appreciated.
