Searching for Ancestor Information from Annaghmore
My great grandmother, Mary J. Quinn left Annaghmore, King's County via ship from Queenstown either in 1896 or 1899. We have references for both. One of them indicates that her passage was paid by her sister and she was going to visit her sister, Delia, in Brooklyn. There is a small possibility the reference to Delia belonged to the passenger on the line above.
In my great grandfather's Naturalization papers it says that she was born in Annaghmore, Kings on April 2, 1879. I will note that in the US Census records, her age is all over the place being listed as anywhere from 2 to 10 years older than my great grandfather who was James Joseph Marshall from Limerick.
I found a marriage record for a James Marshall and a Mary J Quinn in Manhattan on November 26, 1905 which timing works as my grandmother was born on December 15, 1907. I am awaiting the certificate but Mary J's parents reference on the record said her father was John Quinn and her mother was Mary Quigley. I have been unable to find any birth records for my ggrandmother. I have looked on rootsireland for all of them and there are either too many or the timing doesn't match. I did find one Mary Quigley born in 1840 in Moneygall with a reference to a mom, Judy Fogarty and N/R Quigley. Does that mean the father wasn't in the picture?
Any tips, hints, outright information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
