I am looking for information about my great-great-grandfather, Michael Corcoran, who came to Melbourne, Australia in 1841. He was born in approximately 1817 in what was then known as Kings County, possibly in Golden Grove or Birr. His parents were Roger (Rody) and Julia Corcoran and his father was a farmer. Can anyone tell me what parishes cover those areas?

Goldengrove is in Ettagh civil parish and Birr town is in Birr civil parish. i checked the Tithes Applotment listings for 1836 for Kings County. I found a Darby Corcoran listed in Goldengrove townland and a Roger Corcoran ( as well as Darby) listed in Ballynorkin townland both in Ettagh parish. I think Ballynorkin was a transcription error and the townland is actually Ballyknockan. I believe Roger and Darby were probably brothers and Roger was likely the father of Michael.
