My great grandmother was born Bridget Clerkin, baptized 21 February1876 in the parish of Tedavnet. Her parents were John and Catherine Clerkin.She emmigrated to NYC around 1900 where she married Patrick O'Connor, possibly of Co. Kerry. They had 2 daughters and 3 sons who lived to adulthood. Bridget died 15 October 1938 at age62.Her daughter Mary kept a written correspondence, now lost,with relatives in Ireland, perhaps those in the Tedavnet area. If there is any information on the Clerkins of Tedavnetaround or before the turn of the century, or even some living their now, I would love to know and it would be greatly appreciated.
