Hi Eddie,

Thanks for your message. I hope that someone with info makes a connection with you and helps you with your research.

In the meantime, did you know that Catholic records from Skibbereen parish are available online here:

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/

You can see what records are available for the parish here:

http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseaction=showidrecords&CityCounty=Cork%20South-West&parish=Skibbereen&churchid=96

For Church records in Monaghan you may need to write to the local parish priest for assistance as these are still mostly held locally. However, for Magheross parish (the parish that Carrickmacross in in) records don?t start until 1838:

http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseaction=showidrecords&CityCounty=Monaghan&parish=Maghaire-Rois&churchid=292

You could also check for record of the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:

The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp

and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
