James McAdam born 1882 in Glassdrummond

Monaghan

My maternal grandfather was born in Glassdrummond and his birth was registered in Castleblaney. The information I have is from a copy of the Registrar for that date. I have been unable to find the address where he was born or where he was likely to have been baptised. I am visiting the district in mid May and would like to be able to visit those two places if they still exist.

Is anyone able to advise me on where I could start to look? I have thought of writing to the church in Clontibret but there are three in the parish!

Could your James have been born March 29, 1881 in Kiltober, Clones, Monaghan to Terrence McAdam and Ann Maguire, Drummly- Currin Monaghan Parish. Married Susan McKenna in 1918.

James had a brother Peter born in Crossmore, October 4, 1878

Bernard and Catherine's marriage. They both lived in Crossmore. Bernard's father was James and Catherine's was Peter.

Thank you everyone who has posted comments to help me. I couldn’t find a way of replying to you all individually. I realise I also didn’t post sufficient information about my grandfather. James McAdam born 18/12/1882. Father Bernard McAdam, mother Catherine formerly Carragher. Bernard McAdam is described as a farmer of Glassdrummond. From MaryTV’s response it looks like my grandfather had an older brother also called James 1880-1881 and that there were other children born both before and after my grandfather - all unknown to me before so thank you all. It looks like my gt grandfather Bernard MCAdam was married three times!

I’m still not able to find any addresses. Can anyone suggest where I may be able to do this?
