Bridget Reilly b. 2 Feb 1853

MeathNobber (Meath)

This is my great-great grandmother. I'd love to find out about her parents, her siblings, when she left for America, pretty much anything! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Below is a transcription from Roots Ireland showing the baptismal record for Bridget. I could not locate any siblings but I did find a possible marriage record in 1846 in Kilbeg parish. Kilbeg is the RC parish to the southeast of Nobber and likely this was the parish for Margaret.

The 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Nobber civil parish shows two James Reilly records. One in Spiddal and the other in Whitewood. One of the two is likely your ancestor.

Can't help with Bridget's departure from Ireland. I would check the shipping records in the country she came to.

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Thank you so much, Roger. I have had DNA testing done through Ancestry (ancestry.com) and 23andMe (23andme.org). I guess/assume? this is autosomal DNA? Would anyone there be interested in where Bridget ended up? I have a picture of her tombstone from the cemetery in Baltimore, MD.     Thanks again,   Pat
