Paula,

I don't think that 1854 Griffith's record for Owen in the town land of Bey More is the same person as the father of the siblings you mention. Bey More is in the RC parish of Drogheda-St. Mary's which is much further northeast from the RC parish of Ardcath where his children were baptized. Owen would not have had a tenancy that far from his home.

Owen's occupation might have been something other than a farmer....given that his two sons were bakers, maybe he was too.

Carolyn

Thank you Patricia wow I wasn't expecting an answer so quickly!  Can you tell me the year or how I can look the records up please?

Paula Wherity

Paula,

To see Griffith's Valuation records that Patricia listed, just go to the site www.askaboutireland.ie and enter a family and county. She entered the surname as Wherty, if you enter Whearty, you will see a different list...all from the 1850s. In both of the lists, you will note that the parish of Ardcarth where your ancestors are from is not included.

Regards,

Carolyn

Carolyn, Thank you very kindly for the in site at the distance and the great possibility I have wrong info for my Owen and thanks for giving website to see records, very appreciated!
