Searching for family of James Rusk; possible sibling Margaret DOB 1845

Hello. According to family records, my great great-grandmother, Margaret (Marguerite?) Rusk, was from Westport, County Mayo, and her parents were John Rusk and Sarah Fallon. Her tombstone shows date of birth 1845.  The first information we have of her is when she appears in Fayette County, Indiana, USA in 1870. She married Nicholas Wyckoff in 1873, and my great-grandmother, Agnes, was born in 1878.  Margaret died in 1904 and is buried in Liberty, Indiana.  I saw your post and hope to determine if James and Margaret were indeed siblings. Thank you for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you.

To assist volunteers can you share the post you are referring to.

I did not find Margaret's birth record. I did find parents' marriage record on RootsIreland (paid subscription)

The baptism records for that parish begin in 1845, so Margaret and her siblings were probably born before that year - especially given the marriage date of their parents.

Thank you, Carolyn, for your help and the information.  Margaret's death certificate lists her date of birth as March 23, 1843, in Westport.

*Is there a way for me to reach out directly to the individual who posted message about James Rusk 1836 back in 2022? 

*Also, thank you to MaryTV for her help as well. 

*Is there a way to get more information about John Rusk and Sarah Rusk (Fallon)?  I have a copy of her death record in the Westport Workhouse in 1871. 

*Is there record of children born to John and Sarah after 1845? 

*Also, how do I find records for Margaret's immigration to the USA?

This is the closest immigration I could find. The 1900 census notes she came in 1870. If this record below is correct than you should be able to find her on the 1870 census.

I did not find additional children born to John and Sarah. As Carolyn mentioned, parish records began in 1845. All of their children might be born before then.

Do you still have the message posted? I searched Rusk and did not find anything.
