Richard,
The paid site, Roots Ireland, has his baptism record:
Ulick Burke, residence - Ayle, baptized 1 Aug 1830 in the RC parish of Aghagower to parents Michael Burke & Bridget Burke, sponsors were Patrick Malone and Mary Kearny.
Two additional children are Catherine 7 Nov 1833 and Michael 17 April 1846 with the same residence and parents.
Perhaps you already know this about the name Ulick, but a quick search shows "the name is associated with the Burke family, including figures like Ulick de Burgh, 1st Earl of Clanricarde, a prominent figure in Irish history in the 17th century".
Burke was most likely her maiden name. The correct spelling of the town land is Aille. Griffith's valuation records show a Thomas and Walter Burke in Aille.
After giving the above information, I discovered there are many trees on Ancestry for Ulick Burke...some born much earlier around 1815. So, I am not sure if the information I shared is the one you are searching for. What was his wife's name?
Regards,
Hi Carolyn,
Thank you so much for your reply and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. .
According to Ulick's death certificate (Chicago, Il USA) he was born approximately May 22, 1821,. And, I'm sure his last name was spelled Bourke, as is my last name.
So, the record you found is likely not him due to the spelling of the last name and date of birth.
I have some other information which indicates his father may have been Edward Joseph Bourke, but no other information about a mother.
Please let me know if you have any further information, or suggestions for me to pursue.
Richard Bourke
